Delivery Methods

We offer three main ways to study: online, on-campus, and hybrid. The available format is set by the individual program, so check the delivery label and program details before enrolling.

We also offer self-guided online micro-courses with a different scheduling model.

Online learning

Our online diploma programs are instructor-guided rather than completely independent. You attend scheduled live virtual classes with an instructor and classmates, and the sessions are recorded for review or later viewing if you cannot attend live.

Online courses run through Brightspace (D2L). You use the platform to:

• Access course materials
• Attend or review virtual classes
• Submit assignments
• Participate in discussions
• Complete quizzes
• Track your progress

You need an internet-connected device. Some programs require a Windows laptop because of software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or dental practice software.

Most online programs require approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. That time combines scheduled live sessions with self-paced coursework that you can fit around work, family, or other responsibilities.

Fully online programs do not require campus visits. You may still be able to visit a campus to study, access internet service, or use other available supports.

Online students receive the same academic and career-services access as on-campus students. Online and on-campus versions of a program lead to the same Robertson diploma, with the same curriculum, practicum requirement, and graduation designation.

On-campus learning

On-campus programs place you in scheduled, in-person classes with instructors and classmates. The format provides a set timetable, classroom instruction, direct feedback, and access to hands-on practice, laboratories, simulations, and skills sessions that are difficult to reproduce at home.

We deliver on-campus programs at our Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton campuses. Campus facilities include classrooms, laboratories, study areas, and public spaces. Program availability differs by campus, so use the program listing to confirm whether a specific course is offered at your preferred location.

Campus locations and posted hours

• Calgary: 100-2912 Memorial Drive SE, Calgary, Alberta. Posted hours are Monday to Thursday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
• Edmonton: 10010-100 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta. Posted hours are Monday to Thursday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
• Winnipeg: 180 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Posted hours are Monday to Thursday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time.

These are the posted campus hours. Confirm with the campus or your program team if you need access for studying, labs, or other activities outside those hours.

Hybrid learning

Hybrid programs combine online coursework with scheduled campus sessions. You typically complete readings, lectures, and assignments online on your own time, then attend campus for activities that need to happen in person, such as laboratories, skills practice, simulations, and assessments.

A typical hybrid week includes self-paced online work and one or more scheduled campus sessions. The exact balance varies by program.

You should expect to live within commuting distance of the campus assigned to your program because hybrid study includes required or planned in-person learning. Online coursework does not remove the need to attend the scheduled campus components.

Hybrid programs are available at Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton where the selected program is listed. At Calgary and Edmonton, hybrid students use campus classrooms and laboratories for hands-on work. Fully online students can complete their programs without coming to campus.

Self-guided micro-courses

Micro-courses use a separate self-guided online model. They have no set class times, provide 24/7 access to the study material, and allow you to enroll and work through the content at your own pace.

This option is different from an instructor-guided online diploma, which includes scheduled live virtual classes and a weekly workload.

Before you choose a format

Review the specific program page to confirm:

• Whether the program is online, on-campus, or hybrid
• Which campus hosts the in-person portion
• The scheduled live-class and campus-session timetable
• The amount of in-person attendance required
• The technology, laptop, and software requirements
• Whether any labs, assessments, or practical training must be completed on site
